Zelle® is a fast, safe and easy way to send money to people you know and trust. With that in mind, it’s important to remember to “pay it safe.”

Here are a few reminders on how to safely send money with Zelle:

1. Only use Zelle to pay friends, family and other people you trust.

With Zelle, money is sent directly from your West Gate Bank account to another person’s account. It can’t be cancelled if the other person is enrolled with Zelle. So, you should only send money to people you know and trust personally.

2. Know when to use Zelle...and when another payment method is better.

For example, when you’re buying goods online, you probably want to use a credit card. That way you can cancel the sale and get your money back if the item is not what you expected.

Also, you should know that neither Zelle nor West Gate Bank provides a protection program for authorized payments.

3. Double-check your recipient's information before you send money.

Make sure you have the right U.S. mobile number or email address for the person you want to pay. And always check for typos before you hit “send.” That way, you know your money will go where you want it to.
